Introducing model citizens Sarah and Raine, two of the faces from our Eclectic Minx collection. We chatted to them about all things style, travel and living the wildflower life. Read it and keep your eyes on these ones.
Where do you call home?
SB: Melbourne! I travel a lot for modelling but I always love coming back to Australia. I’m definitely a true Aussie girl at heart.
Do you usually find yourself in the outdoors? What’s your favourite thing to do outside?
SB: I do, especially with modelling, because we travel to amazing locations like today (in Mount Macedon), which is incredible! My favourite outdoor activity however would be going to the beach. I love to run along the beach weekly.
Tell us about a recent adventure you’ve been on!
SB: I went to LA recently which was awesome! It was different to how I expected (I thought everything would look like Beverly Hills, like in the movies!), but it’s more grungy than I thought. I lived in West Hollywood for 3 months. I had a celebrity as a next door neighbour which was so cool, Seth Rogan! I used to watch him leave his house but I was too star-struck to say hello.
What’s been the craziest location to shoot on?
SB: When I was living in London, I was flown over to Sicily to shoot at the Turkish Steps, I’ve never been anywhere like it. The people in Sicily were so friendly and the food was to die for. It was incredible!
How do you live the Sportsgirl way of life?
SB: I love being social and hanging out with my girlfriends. One of my favourite things to do is to try out new bars and restaurants, and in Melbourne there are amazing places opening all the time. I also try to stay active by exercising once day, either at the gym, walking tracks or on the beach.
Do you have any makeup tips or hair hacks that you’ve learnt while modelling?
SB: Since the Kardashians are really influential at the moment, I feel like girls tend to go overboard with foundation and contouring etc. My tip is to keep it natural! I like to wear a soft, brown smokey eye and minimal foundation with a little touch of bronzer on your cheeks! As for my hair, I usually just put it in a messy bun and then I’m ready to go.
Where do you call home?
RM: Melbourne is home but I have quite a unique background! My dad is from Portugal and my mum is from East Timor. I grew up in Melbourne but because of modelling, I’ve been travelling to and from London a lot so now London is starting to feel like my second home.
Do you usually find yourself in the outdoors? What’s your favourite outside activity?
RM: I love to be outdoors as much as possible on my days off because I’m often stuck in a studio at work. I love hiking or looking for new places to go on adventures where I can experience new things but also get a work out in along the way.
Tell us about a recent adventure you’ve been on?
RM: I just got back from London actually. I was there for 3 weeks by myself so It’s been really fun finding my independence and figuring out who I am and what I want to do in life. The thing I love most about London is the fashion on the street! Everyone is so expressive and has their own individual style.
