Love Your Body Week kicks off for 2018!

Love Your Body Week aims to raise awareness of body image concerns and promote body confidence in Australians around the country.

It will take place this year from 3rd –9th September 2018, and Sportsgirl will once again be in proud support.

You told us, we heard. We’re changing the conversation.

Last year, we used our platform to call to action the Butterfly Foundation’s National Survey.

With over 3,000 submissions, the survey has brought to life some significant, yet concerning results.

Some of the key findings from the 2017 survey include:

  • Over 40% are dissatisfied with their appearance. 1 in 3 people.

  •  73% wished they could change the way they look.

  • 66.6% of people remember being bullied or teased for their appearance at some stage in their life.

  • 41.5% most of the time or always compare themselves to others on social media.

  • 53.6% (more than half) of people rarely or never speak positively about their appearance.

Help Change The Conversation.

You can get involved by sharing your Love Your Body Week pledge on social media by downloading the pledge template or one of the completed pledges from Butterfly’s website & posting with the hashtags #LoveYourBodyWeek #ChangeTheConvo.
