“Be brave enough – it can change your life!”

Growing up, Grace Koh failed to see much representation of Asian ethnicity on popular Australian television. With a knack for creativity and a passion for journalism, Grace became inspired to not only make a name for herself onscreen but to also improve diversity from the standards we’ve so mindlessly become accustomed to.

Since starting her career, this 23-year-old TV presenter has since worked on many projects with the ABC and even reported on Eurovision overseas. Thanks to women like Grace, we’re starting to challenge the notions of mainstream media and allow room for a more accurate representation of what modern Australia looks like.

When we asked Grace what she wanted to be in 2020, her answer was BE TRUE.

What does BE THAT GIRL mean to you?

It’s time to bring diverse people together to share their stories and to have a safe place to just be themselves.

What keeps you motivated?

The idea that I’m always changing. I’m not the same person today that I was yesterday or will be tomorrow.

Inspire others by:

You do you! As long as you ain’t hurting anyone and you’re doing your best to be better; you’ll have an immediate positive effect on the people around you.

Meet the class of 2020 and join us as we ask them, “what do you want to be in 2020?”
