We’re choosing good vibes only and filling up our days with all the things (and looks) that make us feel good.

We sat down with Valentina and Kiesha to chat how they #GetIntoTheFeels

KIESHA | @KIESHABOVILL

How do you stay positive every day?

Being creative, listening to music and remembering I’m part of the longest living culture on earth.

Tell us something you’re passionate about?

I’m very passionate about my career and getting to know more about my culture and it’s history.

What is one thing you have learnt in 2021?

To put my health and happiness first.

What’s one feel-good thing anyone can start doing today?

Drink more water.

What does this year’s theme for NAIDOC Week, ‘Heal Country!’ mean to you?

For people to understand that we are the land and when we heal country, we heal ourselves.

How can people get involved?

Attend Naidoc Week events in their local communities, and follow black business, influencers and spokespeople on their social media accounts.

What would you like to see happen in future?·

I would like to see a future where we don’t have to have special days and weeks in the year to bring attention to the atrocities that happened to aboriginal people and our land, I hope that we can just live in that mindset 365 days of the year.

VALENTINA | @VALENTINAKADI

How do you stay positive every day?

I take time for myself daily, doing the things that make me happy and fulfilled. I am almost always out and about and discovering new things.

Tell us something you’re passionate about?

I have had a ‘travel bug’ since I can remember, so I have always been passionate about languages, other cultures and all the experiences traveling brings.

What is one thing you have learnt in 2021?

I have learnt to accept the fact that I won’t be able to travel for a while, and that I will have to stay in one place for a longer time.

What’s one feel-good thing anyone can start doing today?

To be more compassionate and honest with themselves and others.

What advice would you give young Australians who are feeling a bit flat in the current environment?

Stop stressing about the things you can’t control, instead focus on the things you can do to make this situation better. Make personal development a priority for yourself.
